Understand first, then renovate

Every building uses energy in its own way. That is why we start with a thorough survey of the existing building: how is the building envelope constructed, how does the heating work, where is heat being lost and what do the consumption figures show? If necessary, we take measurements on site.

On this basis, we develop a concept in which the measures are sensibly coordinated, for example insulation first, then a smaller heat pump. We calculate costs, savings and payback periods, and show you which funding is available.

Design and energy consulting from a single practice

The advantage of an architecture practice: energy efficiency and design are planned together. Whether it is facade insulation on an existing building, photovoltaics on the roof or a new Efficiency House (Effizienzhaus), we make sure that technical systems, construction and architecture fit together. And we oversee the work on site.

Frequently asked questions about energy consulting

What is an energy efficiency expert?

Energy efficiency experts are registered on the federal government’s list of energy efficiency experts for funding programmes, which is kept by dena, the German Energy Agency. Many KfW and BAFA funding programmes require their involvement. In our team, this is Frank Eßling.

What funding can I get for my renovation?

That depends on the building, the planned measures and the current funding conditions, which change regularly. We check which programmes you are eligible for and submit the applications. It is important to note that the application usually has to be made before work on the measure begins.

When do I need an energy performance certificate?

An energy performance certificate must be presented when buildings and apartments are sold or let, and new buildings also receive one. We will work out with you which certificate is right for your building under the current legal requirements.

How much does energy consulting cost?

The effort involved depends on the size and condition of the building and on the scope you want. After a short conversation, you will receive a fixed quote. We check in advance whether the consultation itself is eligible for funding.
